Expert Petrophysics
  The Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Petroleum Operations (ADNOC ONSHORE) functions throughout onshore development sites as well as in the shallow coastal waters of Abu Dhabi.   The Company was incorporated in 1978 to oversee operations in onshore concession areas covering approximately 21,000 square kilometers including five of the most important mainland oilfields in the region. During the first quarter of 2006, the inauguration of the North East BAB has been started.   Job Purpose:   Acts as company’s technical authority and Subject Matter Expert on Petrophysics related issues under Reservoir Studies & Assurance Manager.  Directs, supervises and controls the collection, analysis and evaluation of petrophysical data necessary to predict the presence of hydrocarbons (oil & gas) in wells for calculations of oil and gas reserves and for reservoir studies in order to assist in formulating appropriate field development plans.   Key Accountabilities:   Coordinates with other team members and directs the preparation of specialized logging and testing programs to obtain Petrophysical data, and ensures that collected data yields optimum results with due regard to cost. Includes setting guidelines for log quality control, and personally witnessing critical or complex tests or logging programs when required.   Directs and participates in interpretation and evaluation of petrophysical data to determine presence, quality and type of hydrocarbons, fluid contacts, rock matrix constituents and properties.   Reviews and comments analytical reports and evaluations relative to petrophysical well data conducted by petrophysical staff and consultants, and queries anomalies or non-standard parameters or methodology.   Directs and monitors analysis of data by less experienced petrophysical staff, reviews final recommendations before presentation to Management.   Coordinates and participates in formulating petrophysical contributions to exploration, appraisal, field development and reservoir studies. Establishes parameters and methodology, guides and advises other team members and less experienced Petrophysicist and resolves contractor concerns when required. Reviews and coordinates petrophysical input required for generation of reports, plots, graphs and data listings used in geological maps and reservoir models.   Defines terms of reference, scope of work, methodology, parameters, timing and costs for contractors/consultants involved in petrophysical work. Assists in drafting related tender and contract documents, and ensures timely and technically competent completion of work within budget limitation. Includes advising on suitable consultants/contractors, monitoring their activities, reviewing invoices and certifying payments.   Monitors performance of Electric Wireline logging contractor, and ensures quality control of log data.  This includes coordination and publication of a Wireline Logging and Perforating Manual, which incorporates defined and agreed responsibilities for well site operations, and its continued review. Reviews monthly bills/invoices for petrophysical interpretation and wireline logging work, including an assessment of charge accuracy, resolves discrepancies with contractors and recommends payment when appropriate. (to be summarized)   Advises action on well completion, casing depths, cementation quality and tubular goods for anticipated surveys including corrosion. Presents petrophysical findings and recommendations to management and other concerned parties, as required.   Carries out other similar related duties such as assessing development in computerized formation evaluation programs and recommending applications of suitable programs, Liaising with IT specialists as required; establishing and maintaining archives for all petrophysical data (logs and cores) for assigned field/concession area.   Qualifications. Record and report any breaches to the Project Manager. If required stop the construction works if unsafe practices are being followed.   Be available to undertake off-site inspections of proposed equipment and materials as may be deemed necessary by the Project Manager.   Undertake a prior review of the Contractors proposed mechanical system testing and commissioning methods and schedule MEP Engineer roles and responsibilities.   Witness on-site piped system pressure test, air conditioning duct leakage testing and another testing that may be required during the first fix works and advise the Project Director accordingly.   On a spot basis, witness mechanical system final testing and commissioning.   Review and comment on the Contractors testing and commissioning results and advice the Project Director accordingly.   Maintain an on-going list of mechanical services defects for the contractors remedial action.   Undertake final project snagging and prepare a list of defects for the Contractors action.   Attend project, site progress and any mechanical services related technical meetings as directed by the project manager.   Prepare draft site/engineers instructions, relating to the building mechanical services, as required and issue to the Project Manager.   Provide advice to the Project Director in regard to any mechanical services related to variable costs that may be claimed by the Contractor during the course of the works.   Review and comment on the Contractors Operation and Maintenance manuals.   Requirements   Mechanical or Electrical University degree in Engineering.   Working knowledge of plans, prints,   Interested candidates can send their CV

JOB PURPOSE:       Inspect all plant equipment and pipework within the LNG Plant, Utilities and Off plots areas to provide quality assurance and quality control of all ongoing plant painting and insulation programmes as well as other non-metallic materials such as insulation/cladding, refractories and fireproofing materials.   Perform comprehensive plant surveys in order to initiate preventative programmes with particular regard to susceptible areas, associated with durability, integrity and protection provided by paintings, insulation, refractories and fireproofing.   Assess the integrity of coatings, insulation, etc. and report atmospheric corrosion effects on coatings and other corrosion damages to coatings applied to internals of vessels.       KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:       Job Specific Accountabilities       Inspect and assess the condition of protective coatings and insulation applied to LNG Plant and equipment at the required frequency.  Assure conformity with the Company’s technical painting and insulation specifications and codes of Plant Inspection, and compile written reports on findings along with recommendations.  Issue repair recommendations to user departments. Prepare and perform corrosion surveys in regard to ongoing maintenance paint and insulation programmes and maintain comprehensive records on the overall condition of protective coatings and insulation on Plant and equipment. Responsible for updating and implementing all actions/guidelines contained in AIRMS associated with the application, service and inspection of all non-metallic materials. Review, prepare and recommend strategy, guidelines and philosophy for painting programs, based on service behaviour of paintings, integrity issues and improvement needs. Discuss the procedures and guidelines with Technical Services personnel and provide technical guidance for implementation of programs. Draw up technical specifications to promote the arrest and control of corrosion by high performance protective coatings and insulation and with particular regard to various methods of surface preparation and specialist application procedures. Provide an overall back up service evaluation of the durability of all paintwork, insulation systems applied and the use of specialized equipment for painting/coating inspection and interpretation of results as conducted within the LNG Plan. Prepare reports on observations and interface with the Senior Engineer, Metallurgy & Corrosion /or the Team Leader Corrosion and Metallurgy to ensure that problematic areas of concern may be addressed for analysis and necessary remedial action is taken. Provide specialist departmental services for ongoing and proposed future painting programme; the latter with specific regard to internal vessel coatings, jetty splash-zone areas and protection for environmentally exposed concrete. Arrange for testing equipment to be maintained, calibrated and certified in accordance with ISO and AIRMS. Comply with the HSEMS policy and strategy set by the Company aimed at better health, safety and environment achievements.
