Conduct and oversee a university-wide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions inventory that includes, at minimum, Scope 1 and Scope 2 GHG emissions. Help create and implement guidelines to improve outdoor air quality and minimize air pollutant emissions from mobile sources on campus and complete an inventory of significant air emissions from stationary sources on campus. Maintain and update data on grid-purchased electricity, electricity from on-site renewables, district steam/hot water, energy from all other sources (excluding transportation fuels), and gross square feet/metres of floor area. Maintain and update data on potable water use, total water use (potable and non-potable), numbers of campus users, gross square feet/metres of floor area, and area of vegetated grounds. Help craft guidelines for the purchase of office paper with post-consumer recycled, agricultural residue, and/or Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified content. Liaise with University Safety Manager Institution to manage data on workplace injuries and occupational disease cases and full-time equivalent (FTE) employees. Implement and monitor ISO 14001: Carry out international environmental audit and track all non-conformities. Ensure sustainability requirement of each project is met throughout the lifecycle of the project through the planning, design, construction, operations and legacy phases.
Bachelor’s Degree in science, environment, engineering or related fields. Minimum 2 years of professional experience Project management experience Experience in sustainability A versatile self-starter that can quickly learn and work independently Strong English verbal and written communication skills Proven research and analytical skills and problem solving ability Proficient with PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Master’s degree in related field. Minimum 5 years’ professional experience. Fluent English speaker and fluency in either Arabic, Urdu, or Hindi.
